Top 3 things to do in NYC (+honorable mentions)

The Big Apple is a top destination for tourist all around the globe and it’s no surprise to me. Why? Well, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting twice and it was beautiful to say the least. From being the city in the US with the most songs and having millions of movies filmed there it inspires the American Dream. So that’s why here is my top 5 list of places to visit

  1. Empire State Building Experience

landmarksights_main.jpg

No visit to New York City would be complete without a stop at this masterpiece of Art Deco design, and perhaps the most famous office building in the world. Opens daily from 8am to 2am.

      2. Statue of Liberty

Boats departs every 30-45 minutes. First boat departs at 8:30am from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day and 9:30am the rest of the year.

The 9/11 Memorial honors the thousands of people killed in the attacks on September 11, 2001 and those who died in the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. Experience a powerful reminder of the loss of life that occurred at the twin reflecting pools, each nearly an acre in size. They feature the largest man-made waterfalls in North America and are inscribed with the names of the nearly 3,000 victims. Opens daily from 7:30am to 9pm.

Honorable Mentions

Don’t forget to visit amazing museums like The American Museum of Natural History or The Metropolitan Museum of Art and obviously major city hotspots  such as Time Square, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge and World Trade Center.

Movie of the week: The light between oceans

IMG_1418.JPG

Oh my God! This movie was so good, for real. It has an amazing plot that breaks your heart into a million pieces and keeps you at the edge of your seat from beginning to end. It has phenomenal acting and an extraordinary cast including Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, Rachel Weisz, and many more.

The story is about a lighthouse keeper and his wife living off the coast of Western Australia who raise a baby they rescue from a drifting rowing boat.

And my favorite quote: “You only have to forgive once. To resent, you have to do it all day, every day. You have to keep remembering all the bad things.”

Chic+Comfy: My top 3 Bralettes

untitled-bralettes-2No wires, just lace on lace! Bralettes are very in right now because they provide comfort without leaving behind style. You can use them with loose shirts (so you can see this beauty peek), with transparent shirts and if you are feeling extra daring and ready to get out of your comfort zone you can wear them like you would wear a crop top. You can play with layers and pair the bralette with a denim jacket, a leather jacket, maxi skirts, high waisted jeans, short overalls, you name it! Let you creativity flow and try out this new trend. So here is my top 3 in order:

Song of the week

IMG_1405.JPG

I’m OBSESSED! This is the kind of song that you can’t get out of your head. It has a great beat and is super catchy but what I love the most is even tho the lyrics are very sexy the video doesn’t show naked women dancing around. The video has true meaning and shows the story of two fighters falling in love. Aw, I love Ed!

Dry mascara? NO MORE (tips and tricks)

IMG_1399.JPG

Mascara is a girl’s best friend for sure! It makes your eyes truly pop and the perfect mascara leaves you with flirty and sexy lashes. But what happens when you start getting clumps or it’s just not as smooth? Then it’s time to do something about it. Here I have some super easy tricks to improve your dry mascara:

1. First and most important never pump your wand several times. This brings air inside the tube leaving it there and as a result drying it faster than usual.

2. To smooth the liquid inside and get rid of those annoying clumps put the mascara tube closed inside a glass of hot water for a couple of minutes.

3. My favorite trick and the most useful to fix dry mascara is to add a few eye drops inside the tube and ready to apply! If you don’t have eye drops, saline water will do the trick too.

4. If there’s no way of fixing your favorite mascara don’t throw it away! You can use it to fill and brush your eyebrows to make them look on fleek! And you save a few dollars in eyebrow brushes, it’s a win win!

This smoothie is super healthy and so easy to make. Plus, the benefits are amazing! You can drink this tasty smoothie before your daily routine to boost your energy and after your workout to rejuvenate your body. Since it’s protein-packed, it provides long-lasting energy, and the cinnamon helps to control blood sugar so you don’t crash after your workout. To make this goodie you just need a banana and peanut butter, protein powder, almond milk, and a touch of cinnamon. Throw everything into a blender and that’s it! You can also add in a handful of kale or spinach to add some minerals. Super simple and yummy!
